Masasa Beach is an unspoiled beach
situated in the Municipality of Tingloy in the province of Batangas. Just to
set your expectations, the place is very basic. No resorts, hotels and great
facilities. In short, bawal sa maarte. LOL! It's a nice place to unplug
for awhile, though. So laid-back and cozy.

At around 6:30 AM, we reached Anilao Port then spared 20 minutes buying food and the things needed for an overnight beach camping. Of
course, liquor is always on the top of
the list! LOL!
Upon reaching Tingloy Port at around 8:00 AM, we took a tricycle going to Masasa jump-off point. One tricycle ride costs PHP60 (good for 4 pax / PHP15 per head). The ride lasted for about 15 to 20 minutes. Upon reaching Masasa jump-off point, we then took a 10-minute walk going down to the beach.
Finally, we reached the shore then found a place to pitch our tent. There is also a convenient store located nearby so no need to worry if you forgot to buy something. Shout-out to their pancit canton with hard-boiled egg. Solid!
WHERE TO STAY
The place itself is very laid-back and there’s no other best thing to do than to relax and enjoy the beach. You can go snorkeling! It's pretty cheap. Only PHP100 and you will get to explore the beauty underwater. There are rock formations on the other side of the island that you can check out. It’s the best place for you to watch the sun to set. You can also hike the nearby Mt. Mag-Asawang Bato for you to see the panoramic view of the island.

Transportation:
After-which, we then took the 7:00 AM boat ride going to Tingloy Port. That trip was jam-packed and it lasted for an hour. One boat ride costs PHP60.

Masasa beach is a public beach.
Nobody will ask money from you when you pitch your tent. So if you
want a total beach camping experience, I suggest you bring your own tents,
camping stuff like blankets (I tell you, it's totally cold at night), travel
pillows, cooking and eating utensils, food, and water. And also, don't forget
to bring your fully charged power banks. Electricity is scarce in the island.
If you want to have comfortable stay, you have an option to rent a kubo at Nanay Rosie's Kubo and
Transient. Rate starts at PHP200 per head for an overnight stay in one of her
kubos. This includes usage of the kitchen and utensils. She will also provide
you banig, pillows, and blanket for the night. The place is spacious enough and
has two bathrooms so you don’t need to worry.
In our case, we decided to rent a
kubo afterward because the weather is unpredictable at that time. We paid
PHP500 (PHP250 per head) for an overnight stay in one of Nanay Rosie's Kubo.
